you can sign up for a domain name with godaddy.com they offer free redirection, with purchase of a domain name so you can get mysitesrealcool.com or what ever .com or .net is available, a free altrenative would use something like they off free url direction, but you would than be stuck with thier list of extensions like yoursite.funart.com or what ever. So I hope that assist you.
